UK Admissions Open

Russel Group Universities UK

The UK has two major seasons of intakes: Autumn and Spring. Few of the universities in the UK also offer Summer intakes (April-May).

Autumn intakes

Open in the UK around September-October. It is one of the major intakes for the year as most universities offer courses during this season. The application deadline for intakes is often between February-May of the same year but can vary based on the program & the university a student opts for. Check & get details about your respective university, and apply as soon as possible since there is a high competition during this time and you may miss the chance if you don’t act fast.

Universities to apply for Autumn Intake:

Birmingham City University, University of Central Lancashire, University of Reading, University of Hertfordshire, University of Surrey, University of Westminster, University of Wolverhampton, University of Leeds, London Metropolitan University, University of Bradford, Swansea University, Bucks New University, University of Derby, Keele University, Kingston University

Spring intakes

In the UK are during January-February. They more like secondary admissions since all courses will not be available at that time. The application deadlines for the same are around June and September and can change based on your course & university. The application deadlines for these intakes end within a couple of months before the intake month. Stay updated with the dates & submit your application as early as possible.

Universities to apply for Spring Intake:

Bangor University, Brunel University, Edge Hill University, Kingston University, University of Chester, University of Greenwich, Anglia Ruskin University, Birkbeck University of London, City University of London, Coventry University, De Montfort University, Keele University, Oxford Brookes University, University of Brighton, University of Lincoln, University of South Wales, Birmingham City University, Northumbria University, University of Sunderland

Summer Intakes

Occur mostly during May. It’s an extra intake offered by a few universities like Coventry University, Northumbria University, Southampton Solent University, University of Bedfordshire, etc. Remember, not many courses will be available like Spring and Summer. So, stay updated and check with the institutions or talk to counselors before making any decision.

How to choose a suitable intake?
Your choice for intake depends on the course you are going for. If you miss the Autumn intake, you can apply for the Spring intake. But, make sure to not intentionally miss the major one, as you may not find a similar course in the subsequent intakes. So prepare accordingly.

Here’s a quick way to select the best intake for yourself:

  • Check the availability of your preferred program.
  • The time required to make the documents ready
  • Your comfort and readiness to study in the UK
  • Your test scores. If it’s not up to the expectations, it’s better to wait for the next intake.
  • Are sufficient job opportunities available at that particular time?
  • Reception rates of the university

Eligibility for Intakes

The minimum academic requirement in the higher secondary is 65% GPA if you want to enroll in humanities or arts. And, for science-related courses, at least a 70% GPA is required. Along with the academic qualifications, students have to prove language proficiency skills by taking a test like the IELTS or similar test. Some universities may ask for GRE or GMAT test scores if you want to pursue a Master’s degree. Make sure you have a clear understanding of the requirements before you appear in any test.

How & where to apply?

First, you have to be sure of the program and university you want to get admission to. Once you are confident of your decision, visit the university website and submit your application. If you are confused about the best universities and the courses offered, you can book a free one-on-one session with our counselors to seek advice on programs, intakes, and more.
