
Student Visa Requirement for Australia
As an international student pursuing a course in Australia, one would need a subclass 500 visa, which comprises subclasses 571-576. It allows you to stay up and work a minimum of 40 hours per fortnight during term time and unlimited hours during study breaks for five years in line with your study course.
Australian Visa Requirements
- Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE): It’s a document issued by your chosen university indicating your enrollment in a particular course. You will receive your CoE once you confirm your acceptance from the university and pay the deposit amount. You will be required to include a copy of CoE in your visa application as proof that you have been accepted in the declared course by the university.
- English proficiency: If you are not a native English speaker, you will be required to show proof of your English Proficiency skills through a standardized exam such as IELTS, TOEFL, PTE Academic to get admission to Australian universities.
- Academic requirements: Proof of your academic ability that makes you eligible for the chosen course in Australia.
- Proof of sufficient funds: You will be required to show proof of your funds indicating that you have enough money to support your program tuition fees, as well as living costs.
- Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE): The applicants planning to study a full-time course are required to present a statement confirming their intention to study in Australia and leave the country once their course finishes.
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC): OSHC covers you with medical care & emergencies while studying in Australia. You must have your OSHC done for the duration of your stay in Australia and submit it as proof of your insurance in your visa application.
- Health Checkups: You will be required to pass some Medical tests & may need to show proof of certain vaccinations that the country outlined. Document those medical records and keep them up to date before applying for a visa.
- Character Requirements: To authenticate good character & conduct of the applicant.
- Other documents: A valid passport, recent passport size colored photographs, Details of previous Visa Refusals (if any)

Post Study Work Visa
There are three types of post-study work visas that help you extend your stay in Australia post-study. The stay duration can be between 18 months to 6 years, depending upon your course and region of study.
- Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485)
Criteria: Bachelor’s degree and above qualification. The course must be for at least 2 Academic years, not less than 16 months.
Stay duration: between 2 to 4 years.

*Students must apply for the visas within six months of completing their course, depending on the qualification.
